Minutes for the Monthly Meeting of the  Board of Directors of Mar Cheri Community Club

Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2025

Those in attendance: Ken Schiewetz, Gary Mesick, Anne Mesick

Ken called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Preparations for the lawsuit are proceeding. We have been preparing the discovery questions, and the lawyer has prepared the counterclaim. We are working with the insurance company’s legal team for our defense.

Treasurer: Gary Mesick

Treasurer’s Report. As of 1 November 2025, the Community had $8134.73 in the Operating account (checking) and $29819.97 in the Reserve (savings).

Through October, the Community is $11500 over budget in spending. This is largely due to professional services (lawyer, geologist, and arborist) and utilities. The Community has also received about $6000 more than budgeted in dues, which partially offsets the shortfall.

For October, there were no expenditures from Reserves. 

As of November 11, 67 members have paid their 2025 dues in full. One household is making installment payments. One household has not paid dues for 2022, 2024 or 2025.

Ken Schiewetz made a motion that the board vote to amend the October 2025 Board meeting minutes (meeting occurred on September 29, 2026), as follows.

  1. Ken Schiewetz made a motion to approve the attached special assessment budget, which would result in a special assessment of $600.00 per lot, for the purpose of paying for legal fees to pursue counterclaims and defend the action brought against Mar Cheri Community Club by Laurance Mahar.

Anne Mesick seconded the motion.

A vote was taken and the motion passed approving the special assessment budget.

2. Ken Schiewetz made a motion to call a special meeting of the members of the Mar Cheri Community Club to be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 for the purpose of holding special assessment budget ratification vote.

Gary seconded the motion.

A vote was taken and the motion passed to call a special assessment ratification meeting on Monday, November 17, 2025.

Maintenance: Ken Schiewetz (acting chairperson)

Ken learned from Neal Tripp that the pool pump has been resealed and the leak is gone.

Architecture: Ken Schiewetz (acting chairperson)

Current members of the Architecture committee are Ken Schiewetz (acting Chairperson), Wes Bekele, and Heather Pierce.

No new requests for approval were made.

No new violations were issued in the past month.

Ongoing violations

Div. 1, Lot 10 – $75.00 per month for lack of maintenance(roof shingles), balance $975.

$50 per month for overgrowth of weeds, balance $300. Violations remedied and fines stopped in May.

Div 2, Lot 2 – $50 per month for yard and weed overgrowth balance $0 as fines have been paid.

Div 4, Lot 14 – $700 per month ($50 per tree for 14 trees) for view interference, balance $16,800.

New Business:

 Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 2:00PM Nancy and Ray Krueger ( 111 SW 299th Place) will host a holiday cookie party. All Mar Cheri Members are invited.

There being no other business, Ken closed the meeting at 7:25 PM.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 7PM via Zoom.
