- Mar Cheri Pool Party
Sunday, July 9, 4 p.m.-9p.m. at the community pool
If you plan to attend the Pool Party, please RSVP to Audrey Isaacson (253-839-8671) or Anne Mesick (253-839-3762).
Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Last names A to M bring a salad or side dish; N to Z bring a dessert. The community will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and cold drinks.
- Mar Cheri Neighborhood Garage Sale
Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All Mar Cheri residents are invited to participate in this communitywide garage sale. You can hold your own driveway sale or join others at the community basketball court. The garage sale will be advertised in the Federal Way Mirror and signs will be posted at Mar Cheri entrances.

Treasurer’s Report:
Financials were presented. Please see attached.
Maintenance Report:
- The pool’s leased chlorine system was recently repaired to ensure the pressure safety switch works correctly.
- The bidding process for resurfacing the pool continues. To avoid weather-related issues, the resurfacing will be done in early fall after the pool closes.
- Mar Cheri residents are needed to assist in opening and closing the pool each day, a process that takes about 5 minutes at 8 a.m. and 10 minutes at 9 p.m. Greg and Vicki Bengeult have been graciously doing this job but need others to assist as soon as possible. If you are willing to help, contact Greg at 206-898-7171.
- Twelve people participated in the community’s annual work party in May. By the end of the day, the pool building’s roof, gutters, and bathrooms were clean, and areas around the pool were weeded. Thanks to all who participated!
Recreation and Hospitality Report:
- Welcome to Shannon and Robin Mann, who recently moved into their Mar Cheri home at 29710 2nd Ave. S.W. We look forward to getting to know you!
- A small kiosk for books is planned for Mar Cheri. Residents will soon be able to drop off their used books at the kiosk and/or take books to read. Watch for more information on this in upcoming minutes.
Pool Rules Reminder:
Recently several people who do not live in Mar Cheri were drinking alcohol at the pool; a resident may have given an access key to the visitors but was not present at the pool. As summer heats up, please remember:
- A Mar Cheri resident must be with any non-resident who is at the pool.
- Residents cannot give their access key to a non-resident.
- No alcohol is allowed at the pool.
- Nonalcoholic drinks are allowed at the pool but can’t be in glass containers.
- Those age 18 and older who are Mar Cheri residents are not required to have a homeowner with them.

The next Mar Cheri board meeting will begin at 7 p.m. July 11th at the pool.
