Treasurer’s Report – Pete Keller

Assessment letters went out in March. Prompt payment is greatly appreciated. Final due date is May 15.

The judgment we obtained in small claims court for five years of past due assessments from one homeowner has been transcribed to district court. One more attempt to collect from the homeowners will be made before we resort to further court action.

25 assessment payments have been received so far. If you haven’t sent yours in yet, please do so before May 1st to avoid receiving a reminder notice. Dues are $455, with $50 refundable if you volunteer 3 hours of community service.

First quarter Labor and Industries and Employment security reports have been submitted.

 Recreation – Nancy Krueger

We are renegotiating the insurance coverage for the homeowner’s association. This insurance is necessary for the pool and common areas, and our current insurer is no longer writing this type of policy. Our current coverage has a $1 million dollar limit.

The pool will open for Memorial Day weekend. Nancy will be out of town for her daughter’s college graduation, but one of the senior lifeguards will be on hand to make sure that the opening goes smoothly.

Associate memberships are going up from $275 to $305 to more closely align with actual costs of operating the pool.

We discussed social events that used to take place at Mar Cheri. These included steak dinners and wine tastings at the pool. If people are interested, we’d like to have some parties like that again. We really need a Social Committee again. Please consider volunteering to help organize events and delegate responsibility!

One immediate need we have is for someone to take charge of the 4th of July picnic. Please call Nancy if you can help.

Architecture – Kay Gordon

Discussions with several owners are underway to resolve issues around eyesores, abandoned cars, noise, and poorly maintained yards. Spring is in the air! It’s a great time to spruce up. Please be cognizant of whether your trees are blocking neighbors’ views, and be considerate about keeping your unsightly items out of sight. Remember, your neighbors see your yard more than you do.

Maintenance — Mark Bunger

Work parties will be held at the pool and playground on May 11 and May 18th. Start at 9 am. We’ll have a picnic on the 11th at noon. The work will mostly involve weeding, painting, and pressure washing at the pool area. Pitch in and get that $50 refund on your maintenance dues. The more the merrier – participation in these events has dropped off in the past few years. Your help is needed and will be appreciated.

The summer pool cover will be ordered this week.

Arnie and Mark are working on a plan to improve the drainage in the playground and parking lot.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm and the next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 7pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Vicki Bengeult
