Recreation – Nancy Krueger
The pool will open May 25th for Memorial Day weekend.
Nancy has created a handbook for the lifeguards, and has already been meeting with them in preparation for pool opening. The lifeguards have requested a new first-aid backboard. We’re investigating options for this.
Swim lessons will be priced at $38 for members and $43 for non-members. This is for 8 lessons (two weeks, Monday – Thursday). As a bonus, a guest pass for one day at the pool will be given to each student for each two week session they are enrolled.
One immediate need is for someone to take charge of the 4th of July picnic. Please call Nancy if you can help.
Architecture – Kay Gordon
We had a general discussion about upkeep of our individual properties. Visibly stored boats or trailers, abandoned and/or inoperable cars, unsightly storage, overgrown lawns, weeds, shrubs and/or trees have been noticed at several locations. If any listed condition describes your property, please resolve it before a neighbor feels compelled to speak to you about it.
The bylaws describing the accepted standards of our community are in place to protect all of our property values and help make it a place we can all enjoy.
Maintenance — Mark Bunger
The Public Health Department requires periodic replacement of the pool drain, so we will do what is necessary to meet government requirements. The drain was already replaced in recent years, but current rules may dictate a newer model of drain. Nancy is going to follow up on these during her talks with the pool contractor.
Mark ordered a new pool cover that is heavy duty and should last longer.
Work parties will be held at the pool and playground on May 11 and May 18th. Start at 9 am. We’ll have a picnic on the 11th at noon. The work will mostly involve weeding, painting, and pressure washing at the pool area. Pitch in and get that $50 refund on your maintenance dues. The more the merrier – participation in these events has dropped off in the past few years. Your help is greatly needed and will be appreciated.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm and the next meeting will be held at the pool on Tuesday, June 4 at 7pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Vicki Bengeult
